Ep 066: Liz's Breast Cancer Journey and a Miracle Baby
In this heartfelt episode of The Far More Podcast, Jason and Liz reflect on Liz’s challenging breast cancer journey from 2013-2014, which began with the heartbreak of a miscarriage. Jason opens up about his emotions during this difficult time, while Liz shares how their faith became a lifeline, helping them navigate the darkest moments.
In a twist of events, Liz found out she was pregnant—bringing unexpected joy and new challenges. Battling breast cancer during pregnancy was rare at the time, leaving doctors with few precedents. Yet, with determination and expert care, Liz underwent a lumpectomy and chemotherapy treatments while carrying their baby.
Diagnosed with HER2+, triple-negative DCIS at stage zero, the cancer progressed to stage one before surgery. Liz expresses deep gratitude to the compassionate team at West Cancer Center in Germantown, TN, including the dedicated oncologists and infusion center nurses who supported her along the way. This episode is a powerful story of resilience, faith, and hope amid adversity.
